Some of the brightest talents in architecture, interior design and product design from across the Middle East gathered for the Architectural Digest Design Awards in Dubai.

This glittering event is held annually to reward the brightest talents and projects from the region’s burgeoning creative scene across ten heavily contested categories. From residential and hospitality design to innovation and sustainability, the awards celebrate a diverse cross-section of established and emerging talents.

This is the third successive year that the awards have been supported by Lladró, and each award winner received a bespoke edition of the iconic creation The Guest, this year in silver with a pink base.

The winners were announced on November 9th at the opening night of Downtown Design, the leading design fair in the Middle East held at the Waterfront Terrace of Dubai Design District. They included Design by Roar for Best Commercial Project; Waiwai for Best Cultural Project; Carl Gerges for Best Hospitality Project; Archidentity for Best Residential Design; Dewan Architects & Engineers for Innovation and Sustainability; Carla Baz for Best Product Design; Etereo for Best Architecture Project; Rabih Geha Architects for Best Interior Design; Astet Studio won the Emerging Designer of 2022 award; Nada Debs won the Designer of the Year award; and XVA Gallery for Outstanding Achievement.

Since its conception by the renowned Spanish designer Jaime Hayon ten years ago, The Guest has been the project with which Lladró opens its doors to new collaborators and artists and has consequently become the brand’s most captivating character. Using a characteristic figure, Lladró has invited celebrated artists from around the world to apply their own distinctive personalities and ideas, making this the perfect prize for this event. Lladró’s continued support of these awards consolidates the brand’s presence in a key regional market and upholds its status as an icon of Spanish design excellence, acclaimed across the world for its outstanding craftsmanship and commitment to innovation.
