LLADRÓ ART WORK EXHIBIT AT THE NAGASAKI PREFECTURAL MUSEUM OF ART

Hisakazu Shimizu Design is an exhibition of masterpieces by the celebrated Japanese designer Hisakazu Shimizu, held at the Nagasaki Prefectural Museum of Art until November 21st 2021.

Hairstyle Lamp, a unique table lamp made with glossy black and white porcelain and Murano glass designed by Shimizu in collaboration with Lladró, will be one of the creations on display.

Produced in 2016, this design makes reference to three iconic figures from Japanese history: the writer and poet Murasaki Shikibu, the feudal lord and statesman Ii Naosuke, and the samurai Heizo Nagakawao: all important personalities from the mid-Heian, late-Edo and mid-Edo periods respectively, whose distinctive hairstyles as seen in their portraits are represented in the lamp.
