LLADRÓ’S ICONIC ORIGAMI PANTHER REINTERPRETED

Lladró’s iconic Panther was the focus of an exclusive event hosted by the celebrated architect Jannina Cabal in Guayaquil, Ecuador recently. The event was organized in collaboration with Diorvett, Lladró’s distributor in Ecuador, and held at Casa 6M, a space conceived by Cabal for artistic projects. Nine top Ecuadorian artists – Jannina Cabal, Servio Zapata, Xavier Coronel, Paula Barragan Miller, Apitatán, Roberto Noboa, Saidel Brito, Jorge Belarde and Dennys Navas – were invited to apply their own bespoke designs to this creation’s geometric forms.

An auction of these artistically reinterpreted pieces was then held to benefit the Fundación para la Conservación e Investigación JaPu (JaPu Foundation for Conservation and Research), dedicated to the preservation of the coastal forests of Ecuador.

Some of the themes that inspired the unique and special patterns resulting from the collaboration were connections with the people around us (Jorge Velarde), the eternal search (Servio Zapata) and nature, shapes and geometry (Jannina Cabal).
